Raíces (2006) explores the folkloric roots of iconic guitar music. From Guerau to Ohana, much of the repertoire seeds its inspiration from folk themes. Particularly interesting are Mejía’s arrangements of traditional Guatemalan music that find fresh brio on its new media. It also contains the first recording of the Guatemalan composer Enrique Solares only piece for guitar.
